Bjork will be playing the second of five shows where her album Biophilia Residency will be presented to the public. On the 6th, 9th, 12th, and 15 of April she will play intimate concerts at the Centro de Exposiciones and on the 21st she will be staging a larger concert at GEBA. Tickets here.

Sonic Youth front man, Thurston Moore, will be presenting his new solo album ¨Demolished Thoughts¨ at Niceto Club where he will share the stage with Kurt Vile and The Violators. Tickets here.

Stop by Centro Cultural Konex for a unique experience in the dark. Dialogo en la Oscuridad is an international exhibit where the senses are rediscovered.  The public is guided in absolute darkness through different scenarios and learns to perceive everyday life in a different way.  Open Tue-Sun 5pm-10pm. The legendary alternative nineties rock band, Jane´s Addiction, returns to the city to present their new album, “The Great Escape Artist”, and a selection of the band’s classics.  Tickets here. Av. Federico Lacroze 3455, Colegiales.

From 11am-midday there will be a guided tour of the Lucien Hauman Botanical Gardens, which belong the the Buenos Aires agronomy university . To attend the tour you must sign up in advance at visitasguiadas@agro.uba.ar or call 4524-4008. Av. San Martín 4453, Agronomia.

In the evening stop by Ill Ballo del Mattone in Palermo for some homemade pasta and live jazz at 8pm. Gorriti 5950, Palermo.

Starting at 8.30pm Angela Gheorghiu and Roberto Alagna will present a concert at the Colón Theatre. Tickets here.

Thursday

One of the most popular cultural events in Buenos Aires is the annual international independent film festival (¨Buenos Aires Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente¨BAFICI). Presenting over four hundred films by a great variety of both local and international directors, the festival is a cultural melting-pot with something for everyone. For a unique evening, book your place at Fierro Hotel’s Thursday wine tasting and sample some great Argentine wines, chosen by the president of the Argentine Sommelier Association Andres Rosberg and in-house Sommelier Martin Bruno. The Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Recoleta is presenting a new exhibit ¨Claridad, la vanguardia en lucha¨, showcasing Argentine art from the 20´s-40´s depicting different social and political aspects that the country was going through at the time. Av. Del Libertador 1473, Recoleta.

Saturday and Sunday

The Buenos Aires International Folklore Festival takes place annually in La Plata and is a great place for music enthusiasts to become acquainted with a part of the local identity through the native culture. More information here.

On Sunday, starting at 11am, there will be a free concert at the Teatro Colón  featuring Camerata Bariloche performing Vivaldi, Haydn, and Dvoràk.
