The history of the Kavanagh is worth telling and it’s even more interesting than this wonderful building.
Back in the 1930’s the Kavanagh family had a daughter that fell in love with an aristocratic young men of the Anchorena family. The story tells that because the Kavanagh were rich but not aristocrats, the Anchorena family rejected the girl. In revenge, Corina Kavanagh built the skyscraper in front of a church built by the Anchorena family, so that the only way to get a good view of the church is from the private road of the Kavanagh building.
The skyscraper was also at the time it was built the highest building in South America and the construction only took 14 months, a total record.
