Head to Malvinas 30 Años, an exhibit by Adrián Rocha Novoa being held at the Centro Cultural Recoleta that invites visitors to reflect upon the war in 1982 and its effects upon the present. Opening hours: Sat, Sun and national holidays from 10am-9pm. Junin 1930, Recoleta

In the evening stop by La Peña del Colorado where a tango peña will be held at 8.30pm. This Palermo centered Peña serves traditional food and stages live shows by an array of performers as well as hosting folklore dances for the community.  From midnight onwards they also encourage the diners to play spontaneous guitar music. Tuesday

The Dorrego Flea Market in Palermo is often overlooked and is the perfect place to go on a treasure hunt.  Antiques and curious finds are waiting to be dug up and claimed in this charming neighborhood market. Open Tue-Sun 10am-7pm.  Av.Dorrego and Conde.

Staring at 6.30pm the Buenos Aires Cathedral will stage a choir concert in preparation for the Easter festivities.  San Martin 27, Downtown.

The Quilmes Rock festival will be taking place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. The international line up includes Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkey and MGMT, amongst others. Big time local names such as Charly Garcia and Fito Paez will be staging shows on the Saturday the 7th. Tickets here.

 

Wednesday

Head to the stunning Colón theatre and tour one of the most celebrated opera houses in the world! Later on stay for a special production of Carmen. Thursday

Don´t miss the new MALBA exhibit, Bye Bye American Pie, which showcases some of the most influential works in contemporary art by artists such as Basquiat and Nan Goldin amongst others. Avenida Figueroa Alcorta 3415, Recoleta.

Friday

The Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Recoleta is presenting a new exhibit ¨Claridad, la vanguardia en lucha¨, showcasing Argentine art from the 20´s-40´s which depict different social and political aspects that the country was going through at the time. Av. Del Libertador 1473, Recoleta.

A Japanese tea ceremony will be demonstrated at 4pm at the Japanese Gardens in Palermo.  Av. Figueroa Alcorta and Av. Casares, Palermo.

Bjork will be playing the first of five shows where her album Biophilia Residency  will be presented to the public. On the 6th ,9th , 12th , and 15 of April she will play intimate concerts at the centro de exposicionaes and on the  21st she will be staging a larger concert at GEBA. Tickets here.

The 2012 Ultra Music Festival Buenos Aires will be taking place in Costanera Sur with a big DJ line-up including Justice, John Digweed, and Chris Liebing amongst others.  Tickets here.

Saturday and Sunday

The Orquesta Típica Fernandez Fierro will be playing a lively tango show at CAFF in Abasto starting at 11.30pm. Sanchez de Bustamante 764, Abasto.

On Sunday head to La Oreja Negra in Palermo to participate in the folklore and tango peña starting at 8pm. Uriarte 1271, Palermo.
