Last chance to see the Bye Bye American Pie exhibit at the MALBA which showcases some of the most influential American contemporary art by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Larry Clark, Nan Goldin, Jenny Holzer, Barbara Kruger, Cady Noland, and Paul Mc Carthy. Avenida Figueroa Alcorta 3415, Recoleta.

In the evening stop by La Peña del Colorado where a tango peña will be held at 8.30pm. This Palermo centered peña serves traditional food and stages live shows by an array of performers as well as hosting folklore dances for the community.  From midnight onwards they also encourage the diners to play spontaneous guitar music. Tuesday

Head to the Dorrego Flea Market in Palermo, which is often overlooked and is the perfect place to go on a treasure hunt.  Antiques and curious finds are waiting to be dug up and claimed in this charming neighborhood market. Open Tue-Sun 10am-7pm.  Av.Dorrego and Conde.

In the evening don’t miss the special opera production of Oedipus at the Colón theatre. Alex Ollé, from the famous Catalan theatre group La Fura dels Baus, will be staging this unique coproduced version of the Greek classic.  Tickets here.

Wednesday

Visit the stunning Palacio Paz where the 2012 Cuisine & Vins Expo will be taking place and indulge your palate with the best that Argentine wineries have to offer. A must for foodie and wine enthusiasts alike! Av. Santa Fe 750, Downtown. From 5pm-11pm. 

In the evening, famous jazz pianist Chick Corea will be presenting Together next to Stanley Clarke and Lenny White at the Gran Rex theatre. Tickets here.

Thursday

Stop by the Centro Cultural Recoleta and explore the city’s emerging art and cultural expressions at the Ciudad Emergente festival. Junín 1930, Recoleta.

For a unique evening, book your place at Fierro Hotel’s Thursday wine tasting and sample some great Argentine wines, chosen by the president of the Argentine Sommelier Association Andres Rosberg and in-house Sommelier Martin Bruno. Friday

Take a day trip to the local bakery, butcher shop and market where Teresita will show you all the traditional foods and ingredients. Afterwards go back to her home and learn to make empanadas before having a delicious gourmet 4-course meal with wine pairings! More on Teresita’s culinary tour here.

Saturday and Sunday

On Saturday, don’t miss the Underground Market in Almagro, where for a ten-peso entrance you will have access to artisanal food producers, homemade delicacies, live music and much more! IMPA La Fábrica, Querandíes 4290, Almagro. From midday to 5pm.

Head to the Planetarium in Palermo for one of the special screenings of Journey to the Stars. You can also access the planetariums telescopes to get unique views of the sky. Av. Sarmiento and Belisario Roldan. 4772-9265

On Sunday don´t miss the Don Doko Japanese music presentations featuring unique instruments at the Japanese gardens in Palermo. Av. Figueroa Alcorta and Av. Casares. Palermo.
