This Week in Buenos Aires

The week kicks off with a national holiday. Head to the Palermo parks and enjoy the nice weather and lively vibe! In the nearby Japanese Gardens at 4pm there will be a special tea ceremony, there will also be an exhibit on Japanese embroidery. Av. Figueroa Alcorta and Av. Casares, Palermo.

In the evening, Liza Minnelli will be staging a show at the Luna Park Stadium. Tickets here.

Head to the Planetarium where the Kosice Biennial, an event destined to promote the creation of art with new media, will be taking place until Saturday.  Av. Sarmiento and Belisario Roldan.

Check out the new MALBA exhibit “Panamericano” by the Brazilian Beatriz Milhazes that showcases a selection of the renowned artist’s recent paintings. Avenida Figueroa Alcorta 3415, Recoleta.

Don´t miss the Astor Piazzolla exhibit at the Centro de Exposiciones in Recoleta. J.E. Couture 2231, Recoleta.

In the evening get ready for a luxury night out at the Colón Theatre, where the opera La Cenerentola (Cinderella), by Rossini, will be staged. Tickets here.

Saturday and Sunday

The spring orchid exhibit will take place throughout the weekend at the stunning Japanese Gardens in Palermo. Av. Figueroa Alcorta and Av. Casares, Palermo.

On Saturday evening, starting at 9pm Blonde Redhead will be staging a live show at popular nightclub Niceto Club. Tickets here.

On Sunday head to the Feria de Mataderos to experience gaucho traditions, folklore music and typical foods. (Take a cab to avoid getting lost as it is on the outskirts of the city).
