Argie Winter Special: Garrapiñada

Come the winter months and street vendors who sell traditional sweets such as cotton candy, caramel apples and pirulín lollypops start cooking a sweet crunchy treat called garrapiñada. These warm crackling snacks are prepared in-situ in large copper pots where sugar, vanilla and water bubble into a caramel that then coat peanuts, or in less common versions, almonds and other nuts. A heartwarming treat for chilly days touring the bustling city!
