December 2013 in Buenos Aires

December is right around the corner, announcing the arrival of Summer in the Southern Hemisphere (rooftop pool season is back!), and also, end of the year parties, Christmas, and New Year- let’s celebrate!

Those who will be spending Christmas in the city can find a brief description of what to expect here, and here to catch a glimpse of what the local New Year is all about.  We will also be posting specific information for this year’s festivities throughout the month.

Below, all the fun stuff that will be happening in Buenos Aires this December.

San Telmo Tango Festival: From the 1st to the 8th of December, tango music and dancing will be present at the charming neighborhood’s parks and theatres. The festival kicks off this Sunday at Plaza Dorrego at 8pm!

International Artisans Fair: From the 3rd to the 8th of December, artisans from around the world will gather at La Rural where they will display their masterful crafts just in time for Christmas shopping.

Abierto Argentino de Polo: The  most important Polo tournament of the year will be taking place throughout the first week of December, with the final taking place on the 7th. Tickets here.

Gallery Nights- The last Gallery Night of the year will be taking place on Thursday the 12th of December starting at 7pm! More information here.

Thank Fierro It’s Friday– The best happy hour in the city, which takes place once a month at the Fierro Hotel garden  will be a toasting feast this month. Make sure to be there! (date to be confirmed- check out Fierro’s facebook page here for updates)

Un Ballo in Maschera- The Colón Theatre inaugurates their last opera of the season featuring a production of Masked Ball (Un Ballo in Maschera) by Giuseppe Verdi. Tickets here.
