Tuesday

A general transport strike will make getting around the city on public transportation somewhat difficult so keep in mind and plan ahead!

A great option for a perhaps drizzly Tuesday is stopping by the stunning Ateneo Grand Splendid, one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world! Av. Santa Fe 1860, Downtown.

Easter Weekend

Thursday and Friday are national holidays as the Easter celebrations begin. Check out some details about Easter in the city here.

From Thursday to Sunday a festival featuring music from South America’s Colonial period will be taking place at the Parroquia Inmaculada Concepción in Tigre. Avenida Liniers 1560, Tigre.

The Lollapalooza rock festival side-shows continue with concerts by Kasabian, The Kooks, Alt J and other great live acts. More information here

The Day of Remembrance for Truth and Justice is a national holiday to commemorate the victims of the Dirty War in Argentina.

Manu Chao and Jacek Wozniak are exhibiting a colorful collection of pamphlets, posters and paintings at the Centro Cultural de la memoria Haroldo Conti. Av. Del Libertador 8151, Nuñez.

If you’re in the Recoleta area, stop by the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes which is hosting a new exhibit featuring collages by Eduardo Stupía, texts by Ricardo Piglia and music by Luis Nacht until the 22nd of March. Av. Del Libertador 1473, Recoleta.

Although celebrating St. Patrick’s Day is an Irish tradition, it has gained popularity in Buenos Aires as well and there will be plenty of pubs and bars to share beers, find luck in four leaf clovers and twirl with leprechauns. A full list of activities is available here.

Take one of graffitimundo’s North City Tours and check out the Buenos Aires street art scene in the Colegiales and Palermo neighborhoods. The tour ends at Post Bar where you can grab an icy beer and also purchase some urban art to take back home. More information here.

At 8pm and at 9.30pm, the Planetarium will be hosting live music concerts featuring covers of The Beatles with full dome projections of the diamond filled sky. Av. Sarmiento, Palermo.
