Tomorrow, primary legislative elections will be taking place around the country. Elections in Argentina are compulsory and open (no need for party affiliation), so everyone will be participating and heading to deposit their ballot at their assigned table at local public schools from 8 am to 6pm.
Due to legal restrictions regarding election protocol, alcohol cannot be sold twelve hours prior and three hours after elections. This means that today, starting at 8pm, many bars will be closed until after 9pm tomorrow. Additionally, on Election Day, live shows, theatre functions and sporting events are also forbidden until three hours after elections take place.
Shopping malls will be open at their regular hours. Museums will be closed, although the MALBA will be screening its film program from 6pm (see here). Additionally, many cafés and restaurants open, however, it is good to check beforehand just to be on the safe side.
