Win a Luxury Vineyard Weekend!

Luxury and wine go hand in hand and everyone in Mendoza knows that, specially the people from La Morada de los Andes. This residential community, set amongst the vines of Los Arbolitos vineyard and sheltered by the beautiful views of the Andes Mountains in Valle del Uco, is inaugurating their clubhouse and accomodations in March 2013. For the occasion, they have created a special contest that consists in suggesting names on their Facebook page for their new road. The winner will get the chance to spend a one of a kind luxury weekend, with the company of his or her choice, at this gorgeous location which features great views, an all season swimming pool, tennis courts, fine dining and of course fantastic wine. The contest deadline is on the 9th of December via Facebook.

Those traveling to Mendoza might also be interested in signing up for their La Morada´s 3rd Gourmet Horseback Crossing of the Andes which will be taking place in February, a great month to visit the area due to the harvest festival.

Wine Regions of Argentina: Mendoza

Valle de Uco, Mendoza

Situated in the West of the country, Mendoza, Argentina’s most important wine region, is famous for its dark purple Malbec grapes as well as for its Pinot Noir, Syrah, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot amongst others.  The province, which has stable temperatures, a lot of sun,  and a unique terroir, irrigates its beautiful vineyards with the glacial water of the Andes Mountains that serve as a spectacular backdrop.

The region is geographically divided into many sub regions amongst which Lujan de Cuyo and Valle de Uco stand out in terms of wine production.

Lujan de Cuyo is just south of Mendoza city and reaps the benefits of irrigating its top-quality vineyards with high-purity and low salinity water from the glacial Mendoza River. Right next to Lujan de Cuyo is Agrelo, a smaller sub-region that also produces wonderful Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc grapes.

Valle de Uco is a valley at the foothills of the Andes Mountains, set on the north of the Tunuyan River and is considered to be one of the best areas for the wine industry. This area also produces nuts and fruits and is a great place to visit due to its stunning scenery. More information and investment opportunities in the Uco Valley are available at La Morada de Los Andes.
