The MALBA is featuring a new exhibit on celebrated contemporary British artist, Tracy Emin. Not to be missed. Avenida Figueroa Alcorta 3415, Recoleta.  

In the evening head to the Teatro Gran Rex where the Chinese ballet company Shen Yun will represent 5000 years of Chinese history through dance. Tickets here.

The Museo Sivori, behind the beautiful Rosedal in Palermo, is displaying Contraluz, a new exhibit by renowned artist Juan Gatti. Av. Infanta Isabel 555, Palermo.

Later on don’t miss the second half of the exhibit, a special projection that will take place at the Planetarium starting at 8.30pm. Av. Sarmiento and Belisario Roldán.

Check out the new fileteado porteño exhibit that was recently incorporated to the  Museo de la Ciudad, which showcases all kinds of different aspects of Buenos Aires including city doors, toys, musical instruments, advertisements and more. Defensa 219, San Telmo. 4331-9855

Later on stop by La Catedral in Almagro where you can take a tango lesson staring at 7.30 pm or 9pm. Sarmiento 4006, Almagro.

Saturday and Sunday

On Saturday evening, starting at 9pm, renowned ballet dancer Eleonora Cassano will dance for the last time at a free event at the Obelisco. She will be staging The Nutcracker. 9 de Julio and Av. Corrientes, San Nicolás.

Both on Saturday and Sunday the Colón Theatre will be staging their last ballet of the year, a production of Onieguin by Tchaikovsky. Tickets here.

On Sunday head to the Feria de Mataderos to experience gaucho traditions, folklore music and typical foods. (Take a cab to avoid getting lost as it is on the outskirts of the city).
