Sunny Side Up: Outdoor Adventures in Buenos Aires

río

The forecast says the warm sunny weather will continue for the following ten days, and maybe more with a premature spring in the air. Besides enjoying some garden lounging and late night drinking in the bustling Palermo area, here are four alternative activities for some sunny day adventures too!

Argentina Polo Day: At just 45 minutes away from the city center, this is a great spot to relax outside where you can have an asado, watch a professional polo match, but best of all, learn how to play yourself! A unique activity well worth experiencing during your stay! More information here.

City Sailing Buenos Aires: The Rio de la Plata is as much part of the porteño identity as its shoreline and sailing is a great way to experience the city from another point of view while having some great fun as well. More information here.

Sudeste Kayak: The Tigre Delta is of course another must when the weather is nice, and the great thing about Sudeste Kayak is that they give you a chance to explore its little nooks and crannies while keeping the body moving. Plus, they have a great nocturnal tour that you don’t want to miss with the upcoming full moon. Find out more here.

Perú Beach Extreme Sports Center: Located in the residential Zona Norte area, and on the shore of the river banks, this laid back center has plenty of adventure options including kite surfing and climbing walls. Also, it is right in front of the Tren de la Costa Barrancas station that has a lovely little antique fair and the area is full of nice parrillas  with outdoor riverside seating. More information here.

Argentine Talents: José Larralde

Argentine folklore is characterized for its poetic representation of the land and the local people. Talented songwriters and singers have helped to configure the identity of indigenes and gauchos, rivers and birds, and the ever-present Argentine nostalgia of farewell. One of the most low-key and yet stunning voices of the local folklore scene is José Larralde, who has recorded over twenty records since the late sixties, dealing with themes of injustice and inequality. The singer and songwriter has also worked as a construction worker, mechanic, and rural worker amongst other jobs that colored his music with the experience of the common working man.
